Sleep

Another puzzle piece has to do with the quality of sleep. At some point in our lives we all have trouble sleeping. For some it can be a chronic condition. Insomnia effects many and can contribute to chronic illness of all types as a result of the immune system becoming compromised and organ stress esp. related to the Heart. We need to have a certain level of good quality sleep to recharge our bodies and to repair our tissues. We will now cover a few of the causes of insomnia that I have been able to confirm over the years.

Wireless EMF exposure

Many years ago I read a good book called ‘Cross Currents’ by Robert O. Becker . In this book he suggests and proves that our bodies are electric. That our cells communicate through subtle energy fields . The TCM approach to Acupuncture also suggests that an energy not unlike an electrical currents travels through the body meridians. One can argue that the Wi Fi fields are very weak and so pose no health concerns but the fields that I just made reference to are also very weak but yet crucial for proper cellular communication. Exposure to WiFi can certainly be strong enough to alter the natural cellular communications. The wireless technology seems wonderful with all the conveniences it provides but like most everything in existence their is a flip side. Their are a number of things one can do to reduce exposure and I suggest starting with hard wiring the home with Ethernet cable. This way the Wi-Fi can be turned off permanently. If you cant do that right away then get a timer for your modem/router so its not operating from say midnight to 7 am. Practice putting your cell phone on airplane mode. The Organ Clock

This is a very interesting subject. In TCM we learn that each organ has two hours in the 24hr clock in which it can create a symptom like clockwork. The way I describe it is by imagining we have a bundle of energy that makes its rounds from one organ to the next at a specific time. When the organ is not stressed the incoming energy is well received but when that organ is already stressed the energy is not as well received which usually leads to a symptom. If its during the day one can often experience fatigue or anxiousness if its at night one will be awoken. One of the organs that comes to mind most when thinking of insomnia is the Liver. This organ is a filter and filters get dirty! Residual build-up will occur and these residues can lead to Gall Stones and will cause stress. Also The liver is filtering your blood 24/7 and any pathogen in the blood will enter the Liver and can harbor there as its like the end of the road for them. Good news is we can cleanse this organ system and this can help sleep along with a number of other issues.

Parasites

One of the most disturbing yet fascinating subjects is that of Parasites. Disturbing because some can be large enough to see with the naked eye but far more are microscopic. Even microscopic they can cause internal stress. Its also important to mention that experience practitioners in parasitic cleansing do not include bacteria and viruses in the world of parasites some of which can be beneficial. When we refer to parasites we are referring to pathogens that are larger than bacteria and viruses. Most of us will be or already have been exposed to a parasite as they are part of our world and relatively easy to acquire. Their are over 400 types world wide and some of these can be picked by swimming is stagnant warm bodies of water, inhalation and of course through poorly prepared foods. The most fascinating aspect of this issue is that the immune system is helpless to a large number of them. Once exposed you may experience fever but that can be short lived as the immune system realizes it isn’t capable to killing the pathogen and so turns itself off. This can leave a person in a state between being sick and being well. : I’m not really sick but something is wrong with me” This can go on for years. This internal stress can lead to a very superficial sleep and if the parasites are in the liver which they often are you will be awoken. The good news is they can be cleansed relatively easy using herbal/homeopathic approaches some going back centuries.

Negative Thoughts

We all know that if we go to bed with troubling thoughts from the day it can effect our sleep quality. This is where starting a process of meditation before bed can help alot. Thinking of something your grateful for can change the bodies energy so that we can relax more. The Chakra Actuators I design help to pull some of that negativity from the body. One can often feel a heaviness ,slight discomfort in the chest when dealing with negativity and this is the heart chakra being effected. In TCM they have a saying ” The mind is housed in the Heart” . With a Heart energy deficiency the mind wont settle and so you will have a hard time getting to sleep. Once the negativity is removed through meditation or the Chakra Actuators or both the mind will start to settle and sleep will follow.
