Our Story

Dedicated to the field of wellness since 1987

Like many health care practitioners I started out as a patient. I had been dealing with a shoulder injury from a motorcycle accident for three years and a low back injury for one year . A friend recommended I go see his Acupuncturist .  Dr. Tran was able to treat my chronic tendonitis with deep massage and my low back with  Acupuncture. It was amazing to watch him work and interact with the patients. He was very observant and able to understand much about the patient without them mentioning details. He would sometimes make dietary/herbal recommendations and make the patient commit to regular visits sometimes over long periods. I witnessed the successful treatment of conditions that I was led to believe were not treatable such as the removal of Cataracts without surgery. We soon became friends and he had me assist by removing the patients needles and giving them a brief massage. I then realized this is what I wanted to do, help people overcome serious chronic conditions.

My formal education started in 1989 at the College of Natural healing now the International Academy of Applied Health where I studied Iridology, Bioenergy and nutrition and Acupuncture Meridian Theory. In 1991 I registered at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy for the Registered Massage Therapy Program. After two years in practice I was ready to study Acupuncture and went to Sri Lanka.  In 2013 I found myself back at the International Academy of Applied Health to complete yet another Acupuncture program. When you are compassionate about Health you are always learning and implementing new information for your own health and the health of your patients. I’ve also studied different forms of subtle energy techniques and have my second level in Reiki and use dousing techniques to test people for potential health benefits from various things like supplements.

I’ve called Ottawa my home city since 1970 growing up first in Blackburn Hamlet and then in Orleans. I lived and worked in Carleton place from 1995- 2008. I also worked at the Orleans Chiropractic clinic from 1994 -2000.  I’m presently working primarily from home in the Smith Falls area. I’m the proud father of five children ; Marylene, Corbin ,Eric,Graham and Matthew. I love what I do and plan to continue my practice for years to come.
